Day Shift- 7:30am-7:30pm
Night Shift- 7:30pm-7:30am
Generally, M-F but weekends will be on an on-call rotation.
The Building Engineer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of infrastructure and equipment within our Quincy WA site, acting as the contact for emergencies that affect data center operations.
Additionally, the Building Engineer will assess and consider daily 1) the safety of our employees, 2) the security of our assets and 3) the service to our members. This position will coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.
Responsibilities: - Acts as the primary shift contact for any building issues (environment, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
- Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
- May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
- Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
- Operates the primary cooling and electrical systems supporting the data center
- Makes minor plumbing, lighting repairs, as necessary
- Performs assigned preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the facility
- Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required
- Assists with shipping and receiving as needed
- Transports goods or equipment as assigned
- Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
- Assists IT team as needed for server installs and removals.
Qualifications - Willing to work scheduled shifts in a 24/7 environment. Shifts can consist of standard business hours and non-business hours
- 1-3 years technical/mechanical experience in a production facility
- Ability to read electrical one-line drawings
- Experience with electrical systems, including tracing electrical circuits, loads and sources
- Experience with mechanical systems operated by industrial controls preferred
- Meet physical requirements, including walking long-distances within the facility, working from ladders and lifting 50lb loads
